Preventing occupational hearing loss, how you could win an all-inclusive wellness trip to Bali, and the health benefits of berries – tune into this week’s episode of The House of Wellness radio show for all that and more.

On this week’s The House of Wellness radio show:

Occupational hearing loss

It is estimated that more than one million Australians are exposed to hazardous noise in their workplace.

Hearing Australia principal audiologist Karen Hirschausen shares which occupations may bring workers an increased risk of developing hearing loss, and how long it takes on average for the signs and symptoms to set in. Some of the jobs on the list are quite surprising!

Karen also discusses the importance of early detection in preventing noise-induced hearing loss and her tips on the safety measures you can put in place to protect your ears from a noisy workplace.

The health benefits of berries

Berries are in season, bringing about plenty of benefits with each bite.

The team discusses a new study that reports consuming strawberries every day could help reduce the risk of dementia for certain people.

For an immunity kick, strawberries can promote your daily vitamin C intake and heart health.

Containing antioxidant properties, blueberries are a superfood that may help lower blood pressure.

Meanwhile, blackberries are rich in anti-inflammatory compounds to help protect your cells, which may be beneficial for inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease.

Win an all-inclusive trip to Bali

The House of Wellness is giving away two all-inclusive trips to Bali, each for two people. They’ll get a week of rejuvenation at Luke Darcy’s Sukhavati Bali Health Retreat program.

The all-inclusive wellness escape, valued at $13k comprises seven nights packed with daily yoga sessions, Ayurvedic treatments (consultation, facials, foot massages, meals), airfare, and more.
