The House of Wellness TV is back on air for another fun and informative season. Here the team reveal their hopes and goals for the year.

What’s one thing you do every day to take care of your health?

I make sure I prepare at least one of my meals at home.

Utilising real food and ingredients is vital for your wellbeing and it can make a massive difference to your health.

What are your plans for the year?

Enjoying and embracing family.

For the past two years I’ve been kept apart from them, and I didn’t realise until I couldn’t see them, how much I wanted to.

So, this year I’m going to be there for dinners, barbecues, catch-ups, the lot.

What’s your advice for practising mindfulness?

Mindfulness is really simple.

It’s the act of noticing and tuning in, and choosing where you put your attention.

It might be something that you do every day; whether it’s showering and putting your attention to the sensation, or it could be taking a mindful walk and hearing the sounds of the birds and really tuning in.

Are there any travel destinations you want to tick off this year?

My family and I are really keen to do a road trip and I’ve never done the Sapphire Coast before, so I want to check out Eden and Merimbula, and enjoy the sunshine and beautiful food.

What has been your favourite story to cover this past year?

The one that springs to mind is close to my heart.

We shot a story at Aldinga Beach Primary School on the South Australian coast about the power of meditation.

It was great to document the impact of a subject I’m passionate about and the benefit it can have on students and teachers alike and we’re keen to extend that program to as many schools as we can.

It was great to see the power of The House of Wellness doing something incredibly positive.

What’s something readers wouldn’t know about you?

Up until six months ago, I didn’t have any form of social media accounts, but I’ve joined the dark side now and I didn’t realise how many old friends I had that I hadn’t caught up with in years.

I’m a latecomer, but it’s been great to reconnect with old mates I haven’t seen for as much as 30 years.

What are your beauty trend predictions this year?

I think this year is going to see a real focus on cosmetics again, which I’m excited about as an artist.

I love skincare, I love our morning and evening routines, but I really miss make-up and the colour and vibrancy that we can do with it.

People aren’t just going for neutrals and nudes anymore; they’re using a splash of colour and having fun again.

What are your goals for this year?

I’m a true believer of goals and make sure to write them down because it’s nice to look back on them and think “wow, even though we’ve had challenges this year I have achieved those goals.”

Sarah Davidson

Why are wellness and beauty such important factors in self-care?

I think something that’s really exciting about this year is the idea that beauty and wellness are not separate.

I often treat things in my life as separate boxes and wonder why nothing was coming in to place together.

But I think everything goes hand in hand.

If your wellness is looked after, then you’ll feel more beautiful and if you’re paying attention to your beauty regimen then you’ll feel better.

How do you avoid feeling burnt out?

I think there are a lot of rituals as a family or as a household that a lot of us just didn’t make time for, but now we are.

Something I find really helpful for stress management is spending downtime at home just relishing in quietness and not trying to fill up the calendar going here or there.
