Is this the sweet solution to radiant skin?

Forget pricey potions and lotions – New Zealand Mānuka honey could be the sweet secret to helping you achieve glowing, radiant skin.

It’s famed for its wound-healing powers, and is a fantastic natural remedy for when you’re feeling a bit under the weather.

But did you know that New Zealand Mānuka honey also has the potential to leave your skin looking more luminous?

In consumer perception trials, Mānuka Health’s honey has been found to boost the radiance of skin in just under a month, when a single teaspoon of the golden substance (MGO400+ or higher) is taken daily.

How New Zealand Mānuka honey can aid skin radiance

When it comes to glowing skin, it’s not just what goes on the outside – it’s what goes on inside our bodies that matters most.

The antimicrobial properties of New Zealand Manuka honey may promote better gut health and function, which can in turn lead to improvements in the skin.

Honey has been used extensively as an ingredient in skincare products for thousands of years, but the much more potent New Zealand Mānuka honey is emerging as the ultimate skincare multi-tasker.

Manuka honey is gentle enough to help soothe, nourish and restore delicate, sensitive or fragile skin back to health, as its unique, natural properties make it ideal for all skin types, and numerous skin conditions.

It also has a moisturising effect on the skin, and provides both exfoliation and collagen support.

Consumers who took just one teaspoon of Manuka Health MGO400+ Manuka honey reported their skin looked healthy after just 28 days, while 79 per cent said their complexion had improved.

Many also noted softer, calmer and smoother skin, less redness and sensitivity and overall radiance.

New Zealand Mānuka honey and MGO testing
Not all honey is the same, with Mānuka honey particularly potent when it comes to its antibacterial properties.

That’s because it contains the organic compound methylglyoxal (MGO).

In 2008, Mānuka Health pioneered MGO testing, and is one of the few companies that can guarantee the purity and potency of its honey from hive to jar.

Each jar of honey has a trust code – a unique QR code that allows customers to trace every jar of honey back to its beekeeper.

The unique origin of Mānuka honey

Mānuka honey hails from New Zealand, which is home to some of the most pristine wilderness in the world.

Mānuka Health’s honey is sustainably harvested from the nectar of the Leptospermum scoparium Mānuka tree – a species found only in New Zealand.

New Zealand Mānuka honey is the only honey recognised by scientists and medical experts for its natural benefits.

This differs from Australian Mānuka honey, which is usually made from the nectar of Leptospermum polygalifolium (jelly bush) and Leptospermum liversidgei (tea tree).

How to incorporate Mānuka honey into your skincare routine

One of the beauties of this honey is that you can use it in various ways, including straight from the spoon.

Try adding it to smoothies, drizzling it over yoghurt or adding as a soothing natural sweetener in your next cup of tea or coffee.

It can also be used as a DIY natural skin mask.

Simply apply a thin layer to cleansed skin, leave on for 15 minutes, then gently rinse off with warm water for an immediate glow-up.
